Willow Wind students created inspiring posters to decorate the Barn for our Day of Service Community Friday.
Yesterday was the last day of January Focus Workshops. One group of students spent two weeks cooking from the garden and creating a cookbook. So much learning and fun!

The fourth and fifth graders at Willow Wind, the Meadowlarks and the Hummingbirds, are organizing a food drive! We will be gathering non-perishable food items as well as other needed supplies all week. We hope everyone can participate by donating items for this cause. Many families in our community need help around the holidays and every day. Thank you for your support!!!!

Mental Health Matters
Please join Julie Bleicker and Lance Matthewson to learn more about the uptick in anxiety in the middle school population and how you can help.
The prevalence of anxiety has become the primary mental health issue for teens at AMS. Parents are asking for ways to best support the social/emotional needs of their kids. We will talk about healthy habits, proactive strategies and ways to effectively communicate with your kids as well as create a forum for dialogue and questions parents have about preteen mental health.

Kouba released the monarch butterfly today. The Debut class has watched it develop from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. It was set free in the Willow Wind garden.
Today we had a wonderful assembly celebrating Indigenous People's Day. We were so fortunate to have Te Maia, Keeya and Aubrie from the Yurok tribe presenting to the students of Willow Wind!

Fall has arrived! The fresh paint on the Willow Wind buildings highlight the fall color palate. The garden is also looking like fall with apples, pears, tomatoes and sunflowers. Make sure to visit Farm Stand next Friday!
The Willow Wind Community Association Welcome Back Picnic is tomorrow. Thursday, September 15 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
This will be a fun way to reconnect on campus as a community after a two-year hiatus and to welcome new families into the Willow Wind community!
