Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen community.

By combining service objectives and learning objectives, along with the intent to show measurable change in both the recipient and provider, students experience an effective transformative method of learning.

Each service learning experience enhances learning through action, and provides students with concrete opportunities to use newly acquired knowledge and skills in real-life situations within their communities.  Through this unique hands-on learning experience, students derive a sense of accomplishment, caring, independence, and personal responsibility leading them to be more thoughtful and purposeful in all aspects of their lives.

In 2021 our students participated in the MLK Day of Service.
