Final Rehearsal for the 6th Grade Greek Plays tomorrow!
Today we learned that 2 cubic yards of granite gravel can weigh around 5,600 pounds or 2.8 tons! Luckily, the 6th graders enthusiastically worked together to make a new floor for our greenhouse possible.
The new shed is assembled. Thanks very much to the WWCA and Willow Wind Families who contributed to the Bike-A-Thon last year for purchasing the new "Dana Shed" to hold sports equipment for lots of active fun!
THANK YOU to our amazing Willow Wind Community for helping to make this year’s food drive a huge success! Families donated 1,956 items to the Ashland Community Food Bank, breaking last year’s record of 1,786 items. This amounts to 1,264 pounds of food! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Today we came together to celebrate Native American Heritage Month with help from Brianna Brown, Aaron and Mandala. Plant Oregon donated native plants for Willow Wind classes to plant and nurture and Siskiyou Seeds donated some Apache Red corn that will be planted in our garden this spring.
We read "Be A Good Ancestor" together and shared thoughts about the well loved willow tree that fell this week, leaving young willows behind to grow. The students reflected on what they could do today to make the world a better place for tomorrow. Thanks to all who helped!
Our beloved willow tree fell in the windstorm last night. The students have so many memories of the gifts we have received from this tree over many years. Thanks to an amazing Willow Wind parent, we have young willows grown from the old tree flourishing on the property.
Today students are sharing their memories and planning ways to honor and remember our old willow friend!
