Today we participated in the Oregon Farm to School Crunch Day by crunching into seasonal fruits at the same time together. We were able to use fruits from our own trees at Willow Wind.

Today we learned the route for our new monthly FUN RUN at Willow Wind! Walking the one mile loop took us around the barn and down to the creek. Lots of fun and now we are ready for the run next week!

Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Celebrates Ashland Student's Art!
Sixth grade student Emma Robison of Willow Wind Community Learning Center in Ashland was selected as one of thirteen winners in the annual Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Calendar Art Contest. Her artwork, which features a pumpkin and sunflower farm, will be featured on the October page of the 2023-2024 calendar.
The contest received 1,722 entries from students kindergarten through sixth grade across the state. The winning artwork was selected by a panel of judges based on its creativity, originality, and depiction of Oregon agriculture. The thirteen winners each received a $50 award and certificate.

Today was indoor play because of the smoke, but the Willow Wind students found lots of ways to have fun and enjoy their friends!
Before the Bond Construction and COVID, the Willow Wind students and staff made a mosaic - ever single person contributed. It has been re-hung and is waiting to welcome students back to campus. Thanks to the maintenance crew for helping us get it done.

The 8th Grade Parade through the classrooms was a highlight of the Skyrockets last day at Willow Wind. A walk down memory lane - visiting their old classrooms and greeting the younger students - We will miss them!
