From planning to response, along with close partnerships with city and local government, Ashland School District is driven to provide a safe and healthy environment for all. Ensuring the safety and well-being of students while they are at school is a top priority for parents/guardians, school staff, and our community. Jackson County Schools have implemented a crucial and proactive measure, the Student Threat Assessment Process.
Safety Drills
At Ashland School District, the health and safety of our students and staff remain our top priority. We are committed to ensuring that our school is a safe and supportive environment for everyone. To achieve this, we are fortunate to collaborate with local first responders in conducting safety drills that allow school administration and emergency personnel to work together effectively. Therefore, you may see an increased presence of first responders during drills. These are practice drills, not real-life simulations, with the following goals:
Strengthening our relationship with the Ashland Police and Fire Departments.
Involving first responders in Lockdown drills to improve preparedness.
Hosting safety meetings with local partners to exchange and apply best practices.
Familiarizing first responders with our campus layout and buildings.
Utilizing our School Resource Officer as a key resource for staff, students, and families.
We greatly appreciate your support in fostering a safe learning environment for our community.
