The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a statewide program for reading motivation and comprehension sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. The goals are to encourage reading for enjoyment, broaden reading interests, increase reading comprehension, and promote cooperative learning.
We are excited about the Oregon Battle of the Books competition! It's not too early to get started reading this year's OBOB books. Last year we had amazing teams and we hope to have even more students participating this year.
Join us! We will start our lunch sessions the week after Thanksgiving. School-wide battles take place sometime in February or March. In the meantime, start reading the OBOB books, talking to friends about participating, and stop by the library to talk to us about the books. Karl and Debbie
