Boys and Girls Golf District Tournament-
Both boys and girls golf teams have qualified for the Regional tournament in Corvallis.
Josh Moran finished 1st, and Isaac Larson took 3rd. Both have automatically qualified for the State tournament!
The boys golf team (Josh Moran, Isaac Larson, Gabe Moore, Conner Thomas, and Colin Lawrence) finished 3rd overall.

Senior Prom is on May 11th at the Ashland Armory! Which means next week is spirit week!
• Monday: Jort Monday –jean shorts, the bigger, the baggier, the better!
• Tuesday: Secret Service/M.I.B. – think sunglasses, black ties, suits, etc
• Wednesday: Crayon Day- your whole outfit should be one color
• Thursday: Fishing/Hunting – think camo, bucket hats, fishing vests, khakis, etc
• Friday: Frat Day – think chino shorts, polo shirts, and visors

Since joining us in July 2020, Mr. Bell has brought a wealth of experience and passion from his previous roles in California. As a former high school teacher and Assistant Principal, he truly understands the pivotal role high school plays in shaping our future. At Ashland, he continues to inspire and support both students and teachers, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed before stepping into the real world. ASU’s Spring Festival is almost here!! For the second year in a row Ashland High School’s Asian Student Union is putting on an event on May 15th at 2:35 for community members and for the entire school. Our mission is to celebrate AAPI (Asian and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month. We invite you all to come enjoy some food and drinks and celebrate and perpetuate culture.
Don’t forget to apply to be a Fresh Start counselor this summer! Deadline to apply is Friday, May 3rd at 5pm. The counselor training retreat is Aug 6-7 and the other retreats are as follows:
Session 1 – Aug 9 - 10
Session 2 - Aug 12 - 13
Session 3 - Aug 15 - 16
You must be able to commit to the counselor retreat and at least one of the 9th grade sessions. You get 20 hours of community service per 9th grade session. Again, the deadline to apply is Friday May 3rd at 5 pm.

Updates from the world of athletics:
Golf begins their run for State. The District meet will be next week at Tokatee. Good luck to all our golfers.
Baseball and softball have games against Springfield. Baseball has been on a hot streak, winning their last seven games. They are currently ranked 8th in the State!
Boys volleyball will host Phoenix on Thursday, May 2, at 6:45 pm. Come cheer on the team and enjoy the excitement of this emerging sport.
Boys and girls tennis will host South Medford on Tuesday at Hunter Park, at 4:00 pm.
Track will host Crater and Eagle Point at our final home meet of the season on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.

Thank you, Ashland School’s Foundation!
Thank you ASF for approving our grant to purchase new dumbbells and racks. We were in desperate need of replacing two non-functioning racks and add more dumbbells that could be used by all students. This grant also allowed us to retired some dumbbells that were becoming unsafe for use. Students are tremendously grateful for the new equipment.
Interested in playing football for the Grizzlies? Do you wonder what it would be like to be playing under the lights of Walter A. Phillips Field on Friday nights with thousands of fans cheering for you? Well if so, now is the time to join the team for spring practices. Football meetings are held every Monday from 3:15-4pm in the Multipurpose Room to go over new plays, techniques and fundamentals. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:45 to 8am on the football field. If you are interested come give it a try. No experience necessary. Now is the perfect time to see what it is like, meet players and coaches and have some fun. If you have any questions, contact Coach Lehnerz. GO GRIZZ!

Grizz Sports for Week of April 22-27
Boys volleyball began its club season earlier this month. Last night was their first home game, against St. Mary’s. It was a tough battle, and I am confident the outcome will be in our favor the next time they face the Crusaders. The next home game will be May 2, at 6:45 pm.

This coming Monday, April 22, is a Snow Make-Up Day. School will be in session and will be following a RED Day Schedule, Periods 1 through 4. This will not alter the Red/White schedule in any way apart from making 4/22 a Red day.
