Dear Students, Parents, and Teachers:
The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is about to begin!
This nationwide event is a chance for our artistically talented high school students in Oregon to have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol. A panel of experts, which includes gallery managers and art professors, will judge student work, and choose the winner and runners-up. The winner of the annual art competition will have their artwork displayed in the 2025 national student art exhibit. The Congressional Art Institute is planning a Congressional Reception this year for the winners from each district. The runners-up will be recognized locally and have their artwork hung in one of Congressman Cliff Bentz's district offices.
To enter the contest, students must submit no more than two pieces of artwork and the Student Information & Release Form by Friday, April 18th, 2025. Please email photos of the artwork (JPEG format), along with the student release form, to Wyndess James at Wyndess.James@mail.house.gov.
The following deadlines are:
April 18th - Artwork and Release Form submission deadline.
April 25th - Selection of Winning Artwork by a panel of judges.
Summer 2025 - Congressional Reception held in Washington D.C. status remains unknown at this time.
All information regarding the 2025 Congressional Art Competition can be found at www.bentz.house.gov/artcompetition. For more information, please contact Wyndess James at Wyndess.James@mail.house.gov or (541) 776-4646 with any questions.
