If you would like to earn some community service time and (more importantly) help care for this important living artifact, please meet us at Otter Lifter during TCB Today and Thursday this week. AHS Homecoming Parade Carnival
Wednesday, October 16th, @3:00 pm
Guidelines:
- Go green if possible (use electric vehicles, bikes, skateboards, etc.)
- Must sign up in advance. You can sign up by going to the main office, scanning the float application QR code, and filling out the form
- Must be school appropriate
- Put effort into decorating your float
- You will need to have your float (method of transportation for the parade) finished and ready BEFORE OCTOBER 15th, THE DAY BEFORE THE PARADE
- The deadline for the application process is OCTOBER 4TH!
- Tell your friends and family to come and support our clubs and teams!

Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up!
When a student misses 2 days a month: They will miss 20 DAYS a year. They will miss 30 HOURS of math over the school year. They will miss 60 HOURS of reading & writing over the school year. They will miss over 1 YEAR of school by graduation.
When a student misses 4 days a month: They will miss 40 DAYS a year. They will miss 60 HOURS of math over the school year. They will miss 120 HOURS of reading & writing over the school year. They will miss over 2 YEARS of school by graduation.

Rotary International Exchange Information Session

Two Rebounds will share their experiences on the exchange - Bohdi Wier and Indi Reynolds.
Please note: This info night is primarily for the long-term exchange (10 months), but questions about short term exchange can be answered as well.

Save the date! The Rotary International Exchange Information Session will be happening on Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the IVC. Two rebounds will share their experiences on exchange. Please note: this info night is primarily for the long-term exchange, which is 10 months, but questions about short term exchange can be answered as well.
Ultimate Frisbee Club will be meeting after school today in room SC-6. All students and skill levels welcome. Come join the fun!
Open House is happening on September 18th! It will begin in the main gym at 5:30 pm, continue with community on the quad from 5:45 to 6:15, and then a tour of student classes will go from 6:20 to 8:00 pm. We hope to see you there.
The AHS club fair is happening this week on Tuesday and Thursday during TCB. 9th and 10th graders will meet on the quad on Tuesday and 11th and 12th graders will come on Thursday. Clubs, if you would like to participate, please go to the main office to get your club form and to turn it in to get signed. If you do not get this form approved by the end of the day, you will not be able to participate in the club fair.
Hey seniors! If you want to paint jeans to celebrate your senior year, come during Tuesday TCB to the commons. Bring a pair of jeans and your friends! This will be a fun bonding activity for seniors. We hope you have an amazing year!

Student Tutors are available to help in any subject, or students can use the STC as a gathering place to study with friends. Come by and check it out! ALL are welcome. The STC is sponsored by the Ashland Schools Foundation.
Parking Passes are due September 30th. You can pick up the application form in the main office, which you will need to turn in with a copy of your driver's license and up to date car insurance. Students parking in the student lot after September 30th without a parking pass will be stickered. Parking in numbered staff spots is not allowed all year long and will also result in your car getting stickered.
2024-2025 Yearbooks are now available for pre-order! You can order them through the main office or Jostens at Jostens.com/yearbookbuy. Order before January 5th for the lowest price of the year at $50.

The AHS Student Tutor Center is up and running again this year. All students are welcome to come to the IVC after school on Mondays from 3:00-4:00 or Wednesdays from 2:40-3:40. The first meeting of Mu Alpha Theta, the Math Honor Society, will be Today at lunch in H-22. All students in their third year of high school math with a math GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible to join. There is no limit to the fun we will have! Plus we will have treats!
School picture day is happening September 16th and 17th. Students will be escorted to the picture day location with their English classes as a group. Be sure not to wear any clothing with inappropriate language or images. Sunglasses, hats, and face coverings are not allowed.

Interested in joining Water Polo? The fall water polo season is going until mid-November. Regular practices take place at the Ashland YMCA pool on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30. Become part of a winning team as well as a fun, supportive community. Open to students grades 9-12. All skill levels welcome and scholarships are available!
