Walker's annual recognition of the shortest day of the year is organized and produced my Mark Sherbow's classroom. After studying the science of the sun's pattern around the world, children create a spiral of evergreens in our gym. Each class at Walker visits the labyrinth during the day. Children light their candle in the middle and walk outward to sit and listen to a story of the sun. In conclusion musicians play "Here Comes the Sun!" as the doors are opened to welcome the sun back into our lives.
