At its regular meeting on Monday, April 11, 2022, the Ashland School Board took the following actions:
- Approved updates to Board policies
- JHFE-GBNAB Suspected Abuse of a Child and Reporting Requirements
- JHFE-GBNAB Administrative Regulation for the policy
- JHFF-GBNAA Suspected Sexual Conduct with Students and Reporting Requirements
- Approved new Memoranda of Agreement with the Ashland Education Association
- Updated the term covered by guidance concerning COVID-19 vaccine requirements to October 1, 2022.
- Established the ability to give input to implementation of funds from HB 4030 designating State support for educator recruitment and retention to address labor shortages in public schools.
- Established compensation ranges and selection criteria for teachers and administrators for two summer school sessions in 2022.
- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Oregon School Employees Association implementing the State authorization to grant Emergency Substitute Teaching Licenses to qualified employees who can serve in short-term substitute assignments. This MOU expires June 30, 2022.
In addition the Board received a brief update on the process to approve new curriculum for Social Studies at all school levels and reviewed a new Board policy IB concerning Freedom of Expression for Students.
