Principal's Update

Hello Grizzlies,

I hope that you all are doing well. I want to thank all of our students and staff for being cautious and thereby ensuring that we have had a successful reopening of in-person instruction. Students have been very diligent about staying masked on campus.

Very recently, OHA and ODE have issued changes that affect masking guidelines for after school athletic events and outdoor activities during school hours. You can read about these policies and how ASD is interpreting them in Superintendent Bogdanove’s newsletter.

To be clear, all staff and students will be required to wear masks indoors at all times through the rest of this year.

As Superintendent Bogdanove states, “Beginning Tuesday, May 25, Students, Ashland staff and visitors will no longer be required to wear face coverings outdoors.” This guidance is entirely contingent upon students staying at least 6 feet apart. If students are not 6 feet apart, we will require that they reapply their mask.

Our Prom is this Saturday night! We are excited to be able to host the event on our field. We will still require all students to wear a mask. In ASD, the new guidelines do not take effect until May 25. Please wear a warm layer since it promises to be a chilly night.

Thank you all for your continued flexibility and commitment to making this year as successful as it can be.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Bell
Principal
