USDA Extends Free School Meals & Steps for free and reduced lunch for the new school year.
Good news for children all across the United states.
The waiver to feed children ages 1-18 has been extended through June 2022.
What this means for students and families in the Ashland school district:
All students attending in-person classes will be able to get a breakfast and lunch free of charge onsite.
Any children that are doing CDL or that are not enrolled in the school district but live within our school district boundaries, may also receive free breakfast and lunches from a pick-up site listed on our website.
There are no income requirements to receive meals
Please note: We will still need families to fill out free and reduced forms for the new school year. Starting on July 1 2021, you will need to fill out an application for the 21/22 School year. Although the children eat for free regardless, the approval of these applications is necessary for fines, fees and tuition waivers, scholarships for after school events. Some local businesses give reduction in fees, such as phone, electric, internet companies, and YMCA to name a few. It is also very important information for funding purposes for the Ashland school district. Even if you never use the meal benefits, it is extremely important that you fill out an application any way. If you are enrolled in AHS, AMS, Bellview, Walker, Helman, JMOS or Willow Wind, please fill out an application anytime after July 1, 2021. There will be a link to this application available during the online registration process.
