Position: Teacher; Supplemental Teaching Support Work Site: Willow Wind Community Learning Center Hours/FTE: 1.0 FTE; Probationary
Job Summary: Willow Wind is a K-8 alternative program. Teachers work with multiple grade levels and collaborate regularly. The right person for this position must understand integrated curriculum and be excited to work closely with other teachers. We work hard to create a community of learners that includes teachers, students and families. This teaching position will be working with 1st and 2nd graders on integrated studies supporting literacy and inquiry as well as supporting their core instruction. Additionally, the teacher in this position will have the opportunity to teach topics they are passionate about to a variety of classes throughout the week. This is an opportunity to share your love of learning with students who are eager to learn and explore. Topics are flexible – Nature? Math? Art? Engineering? Gardening? Multi Cultural studies? All teachers work as a team – sharing insights into students and ideas for encouraging deep learning and inquiry.
Qualifications: Appropriate Oregon Licensure. Ability to teach students of varying backgrounds. Ability to meet job description requirements and district standards for teachers. Bilingual preferred.
