August 7 Fall Schooling through COVID Update Highlights:
  • The first day of school has changed. It is now Tuesday, September 8 for all students
  • We will provide distance learning ONLY for ALL students K-12 through November 6
  • We will decide in October if students can safely return to school for the second quarter Haven’t registered yet? New and Returning Students Register online August 11 - 14

We are so excited to have our students back this year for the 2020-2021 school year! This email is intended to get students their schedules for the first 2 days back to school as well as provide students with their first semester schedule.

Our first day back to school is September 8, 2020! We will be following a special half day schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday as detailed below.

Zoom links will be sent to students individually through their school email ( Information on how to access student emails have been sent out to parents.

Tuesday Sept 8th - Students will have the opportunity to meet with all of their teachers and peers through 20-minute Zoom meetings. We ask that students please report to all of their classes on Tuesday regardless of any schedule errors or changes unless otherwise specified by a counselor or teacher.

AHS follows a semester academic calendar with a block schedule that has three 85-minute classes meeting on alternate days. This block schedule allows students to take up to 6 classes. School days alternate between color days, red days and white days.

All 9th - 11th grade students will be enrolled in a grade level 85-minute Advisory class once a week on Wednesdays.  During these periods, students will engage in activities focused on academic success strategies, social and emotional growth, and career and college readiness.  Students are requiring to attend this class and will earn credit through participation.

Advisory is meant to be an opportunity for students to learn various skills related to their grade-level. Students will be assigned an Advisory Teacher and work with them throughout their high school career.

Office Hours

Ashland High School utilizes a special class period called Office Hours (previously called TCB) to offer students an opportunity to meet with teachers. During this time students may check in with teachers, counselors, the health center, or the library on campus for support.

Applied Learning

Applied learning is an open time for students to work on projects during the school day. This time is set aside for students to work on assignments selected by teachers and for those teachers to support students. Students may also use this time to study, catch up on homework, take tests or quizzes, or work with peers on upcoming projects.
