David Sommer
       David Sommer
The Ashland School District Maintenance Department is responsible for over 650,000 square feet of building space and hundreds of acres of grounds owned by the district.

Each school's custodial staff works diligently to assure classrooms and common areas are kept clean so the learning environment is safe for students.

David W. Sommer, has been Ashland School District's Facilities and Maintenance Director since September of 2016, prior to that, he was in charge of grounds, IPM and playground safety for the district. David works from the maintenance yard at 212 Walker Ave. Before working for the district, David worked in property management and has experience in carpentry, electrical, HVAC/R, plumbing and excavation.

David's interests are in alternative energy, sustainable design concepts, and intelligent building for the future.
