FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Schooling Through Covid

Q: Can I volunteer in my child’s virtual classroom?

A: Yes! Once school gets rolling, parents can be helpful in different ways. One way that parents can help is by volunteering to facilitate breakout rooms for class discussions and support. Any parent wishing to do this would still need to fill out a volunteer form and take a photo or scan of the front and back of their driver’s license. The completed form and the license information would need to be sent electronically to your child’s school office manager. Click HERE for the fillable volunteer form.
Q: My child’s schedule shows an expectation of 8:30-2:30 every day. Will they be staring at a screen all day?

A: No! There will be scheduled class meetings and synchronous (in real time with the class/small group/individual through Zoom) instructional sessions every day, but there will also be off screen time for students to work on projects and assignments, built in breaks and special classes like PE which will be off screen or involve lots of movement. If your child starts to experience “Zoom fatigue” (the struggle is real!) contact your child’s classroom teacher to problem solve.
