Dear Class of 2020 Families,
The big day is almost here! We are making preparations for Graduation on Friday, May 29th at 6:30 PM in Lithia Park. Rehearsal begins promptly at 9:00 AM on May 29th at the Lithia Park Bandshell. All graduates participating in the ceremony are required to attend and they should bring their caps and gowns. We ask that you notify the office right away if you do not intend to participate in the graduation ceremony. After rehearsal, all students will board a bus headed to an elementary school where they will go and do a scholar parade through the halls. This is inspiring for our elementary students and meaningful for our graduates and the elementary teachers. They will return by bus to Lithia Park by 12:00 PM.
All graduates must begin lining up prior to the ceremony at 5:30 PM wearing their caps and gowns. Caps and gowns may not be decorated; shorts are not permitted. Suitable attire includes a dress or a skirt/slacks with a nice shirt. Choose your footwear carefully so that you can walk comfortably on the uneven terrain. The Class of 2020 will begin their processional at 6:15 PM.
Outstanding fees and fines must be paid by May 28th. In addition, students must return all library books and textbooks to the Textbook Depository after final exams. Remember, students will not be allowed to walk at graduation if they have not returned all books, uniforms and paid their outstanding fees and fines. We ask that lockers be cleaned out by 4:00 PM on May 28th. Items left in lockers or in lost and found will be disposed of or donated.

There will not be any chairs set up by AHS on the lawn. Families choosing to watch graduation from the lawn area in front of the bandshell must bring their own blankets and low-profile chairs (think Britt Festival). Blankets and chairs will be allowed on the lawn beginning at 5:00 PM. A security guard will remove anything placed on the lawn prior to 5:00 PM. We will provide chairs only for elderly or disabled patrons. The chairs will be located on the street (closed to traffic) and along the wheelchair-accessible ramps.
Our professional photographer will start posting Graduation 2020 photos within 72 hours. In order to preserve everyone's view, we will rope off the area in front of our graduates. We will designate a photo area on one side of the stage for those parents who want to take a quick photo of their graduate and then return to their seats.
Official Photographer Cari Baker (Cari Baker Photography) will be present at rehearsal as well as graduation and will take photographs of each student receiving his or her diploma. Photos will be uploaded throughout the days following the Ceremony.
Photos will be uploaded in order of the diplomas received.
If you do not see your photos, and wish to inquire, please provide as many details as possible to aid in locating your student, as not all of the Graduates are known by name only. It also helps if you note which side of the stage you were seated on and other people who were in your row, especially if you see their photo posted already.
She will also be available prior to the ceremony for group, posed or family photos.
In the unlikely event of a torrential downpour, we will move the ceremony to the AHS Gym. If a change of venue occurs, a notice will appear on our website and will also be sent via phone on the emergency alert system to all AHS families.
Over 240 seniors just started their last semester at Ashland High School before they graduate on May 29th. It is an exciting time as they plan their post-graduation adventures and step into the adult world. While it is a time for fun and celebration, graduation is also the most dangerous time for teens in regard to traffic fatalities.
Because of this risk, the Ashland community has worked for many years to provide a fun drug and alcohol free graduation party for our high school seniors so that they can have a great time celebrating with their friends and then return home safely to their families.
Over 90% of the 2019 graduating seniors attended the Senior All Night Party and they had a blast! There were no problems with drugs and alcohol and many of the parent chaperones remarked about how many of the seniors thanked them for giving them one last night together with their friends.
The Senior All Night celebration is entirely parent volunteer driven and does not receive any financial support from the school district or Ashland High School. We rely on our community to make this happen and our community consistently comes through for our graduating seniors.
The Senior All Night will be held at the Family Fun Center with a DJ, food, and other activities like poker, bounce houses, and henna tattoos. The evening caps off at 3 am with a raffle of cash and prizes before the graduates load up for their last school bus ride back to Ashland. In addition to the party, your contribution helps fund a $500 scholarship in honor of Leah Castillo, a senior who was killed by a drunk driver on graduation night in 2005.
In order to host this celebration, the committee needs to raise roughly $15,000 and gather a multitude of donations from our community. Please consider making a donation to help us put on a wonderful celebration for our 2020 graduating seniors. You can send your contribution to PO Box 3353, Ashland, OR. 97520. Please make your check payable to Senior All Night or donate online at PayPal.Me/ahsseniorallnight20.
Thank you for helping us keep Ashland’s children safe on graduation night and for being such a generous member of our community. If you have any questions, please feel free to call (541) 821-4725. With sincere gratitude!
Please direct all questions to the AHS Main Office, at 541-482-8771.
I look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates with you.
