About two years of this was through The Berkeley Chess School.
When he came up to Ashland about 2007, he coached children at John Muir School for two years, and then he moved on to coaching chess at Ashland Middle School during their lunch breaks at the library. He also has taught chess at the public library and at SOU Academy.
