Position: Academic Counselor
Work Site: Ashland High School   
Hours/FTE: .50 FTE; Probationary
Highly Qualified Status Requirements:
  • At least three years of successful teaching experience.
  • A valid certificate as a guidance counselor
  • A masterís degree or its equivalent, representing intensive course work in the principles and practices of educational guidance; educational testing and measurement; counseling; the organization and administration of guidance services; and the psychology of learning.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Appropriate Oregon Licensure and Highly Qualified Status.  Demonstrated effectiveness in counseling high school students.  Extensive knowledge regarding college and career paths.  Requires strong communication skills and technological proficiency.  Ability to teach students of varying backgrounds.  Endorsement in appropriate subject matter required. Ability to meet job description requirements and district standards for teachers. Bilingual preferred.
Salary: Based on licensed salary schedule.  Pro-rated based on FTE
